Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed (Desktop Client) [Solution]

When setting up the techShip Desktop Client, if you enter the incorrect portal information you will see the "Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed" error.



This error is shown when you either:

  • Enter the portal value in the portal field with https://
  • Enter the portal value with a typo
  • Enter the portal value with empty spaces in the beginning or end of the portal name


The correct format for the value in the portal field is: [portal].techship.[domain] 

A valid example would be: myportal.techship.io 

instead of https://myportal.techship.io 


Check those three elements, fix the error and Save
