How to Pack in techSHIP Desktop Client [Information]

The Desktop Client Pack feature allows you to fully pack an order coming from the WMS at the packing line, giving you control to determine which cartons you will use, as well as organizing which SKUs must be packed on each carton.


NOTE: This feature is available for techShip Plus and techShip Enterprise setups only.


Please review this quick introduction to the feature and follow the instructions below:




PACK WORKFLOW OVERVIEW


As a brief overview, the steps you would take are:



1) Scanning the order and preview it

2) Press the Pack button

3) Scan the carton you will use first

4) Scan the SKUS you will pack in that that carton

5) Finalize the carton 

6) If you have more cartons, repeat the process as many times as needed

7) Once you have all the cartons packed, Finalize the Order to Process and Print


NOTE: You can work with keyboard hotkeys to make a more efficient use of this feature.



PACKING STEPS


The steps to fully import, pack and process an order are:


1) Scan the order and preview it by:

a) Scanning the order (if the scanner is programmed to also press Enter and the Desktop Client is set to Preview on Enter)

b) Scanning the order and pressing Preview

c) Keying in the reference/scanning and pressing CTRL + L


2) Press the Pack button or CTRL + P



3) Scan the carton you will use first 

4) Press Submit to confirm the action (which will add the carton to the list)

5) Scan one of the SKUs you will pack in that that carton 

6) Press Submit to confirm the action (which will add the SKU to the carton) and repeat as many times as necessary


NOTEIf you need to update the amount, you can

    - Change the amount manually and press Submit
    - Scan the SKU as many times as necessary

You will realize that as SKUS are scanned and added to the carton, they subtract from the list on the right, and add to the carton on the left.

7) (Once ready) Press the Finalize Carton button or CTRL + F to Finalize the carton 
8) If you have more cartons, repeat the process as many times as needed.
9) Once you have all the cartons packed, click in Finalize Order or CTRL + T to Finalize the Order (this will take you back to the Process screen)


10) Finally, you can press Process and Print to process the order
