Desktop/Print Client loops reinstall in Windows 10 [Solution]

Modified on Wed, 23 Aug, 2023 at 10:28 AM

If you run Windows 10 and experience issues with the Techdinamics Print Client or Desktop Client reinstalling cyclically after every restart, follow this guide.

This issue is related to a Windows Update release (KB5028244) that affected Microsft Windows users worldwide.

Microsoft released update KB5028244 on 7/25/2023, which was pushed through Windows update to many computers at August 9. Microsoft released a fix for the issue on 8/22/2023 in the KB5029331 update.

Since this is a bug of the Windows OS itself, as Techdinamics support we cannot push an update ourselves on your end. To fix the issue, you need to push the KB5029331 Windows update on your end via Windows Update Service.

To do so, you will have to:

1. Click the Start Menu and type update

2. Click Check for updates

3. You will see KB5029331 as a suggested Optional Quality Update, press Download and Install

NOTE: IF the update doesn't display this way, you might need to click Check for Updates to fully update the system, or View Optional Updates to select it manually.

4. After the update and install is complete, restart your computer
