Configuring Account Operational Settings [Guide]

Once your Account and Account Users are established within the techOMS hierarchy, you must configure its operational elements to begin fulfilling orders.


This guide covers the end-to-end process of setting up carrier mappings, sales and fulfillment channels, and synchronizing your product catalog and inventory.

Carrier and Service Mappings


When setting up your Accounts, you must configure carrier and service mappings to ensure they are available when working with fulfillment and sales channels.


To configure these mappings, follow the steps in this article:


Fulfillment and Sales Channels


As you finish configuring the internal elements of your techOMS portal, you will begin connecting to external services or an Integrated System. Create and set up your fulfillment and sales channels by following these articles in order:

 

 
NoteEnsure your physical or virtual warehouses are fully defined at the Organization level before attempting to assign them to your Account's fulfillment channels. 
 

 

Product and Inventory Synchronization


Now that you have successfully created your channels and carrier mappings, you can synchronize your product catalog and inventory to accurately reflect your stock levels.


Defining the Master Product Source


First, you must define your master product source. This is the Integrated System that will act as the single source of truth for all products across your entire ecosystem. Follow these articles in order:


Importing the Product Catalog


Depending on your selected master product source, proceed with the recommended method to populate your catalog.

 

 
WarningWhile you can import products via file directly into techOMS regardless of your master source, doing so when techOMS is not the master is strongly discouraged. Manual imports will not sync back to your master channel and may be overwritten during the next automatic sync.

If a Sales Channel or Fulfillment Channel is your master product source , synchronize your product catalog directly from the source channel using these guides:


Synchronizing Inventory


Once the product catalog is successfully imported or synced, you must complete your setup by synchronizing your actual inventory levels. Follow the applicable guide based on your channel setup:


After completing these steps, your Account is fully operational and ready to process orders within  techOMS.
