II. EDITING AN ACCOUNT
To edit an Account:
1. Define the fields accordingly depending on the section:
- Main:
- Organization: Organization this account is associated with.
- Name: Display name for the account.
- Code: Unique reference code for the account.
- API Key: API Key used for external interactions with the account.
- Timezone: Account's timezone.
NOTE: Converts UTC dates for events to the selected timezone in the interface.
- License Type: Account license type (Standard by default).
NOTE: For instructions on updating the license type, refer to: How to Update the License Type (Subscription) [Step-by-step guide].
- Unit of Measure
WARNING: The behavior and available unit combinations may vary depending on your system. Make sure to review How Units of Measurement work in techOMS [Information] before making changes.
- Size: Unit of measurement for length (inch, cm, etc.).
- Volume: Unit of measurement for volume (cubic centimeters, cubic feet, etc.).
- Weight: Unit of measurement for weight (lb, kg, carat, etc.).
- Workflow Settings
- Master Product Source: Select the master product source: techOMS (default), Sales Channel, or Fulfillment Channel.
WARNING: Changing this setting on a live (production) Account can cause Product duplication. techOMS requires all SKUs to be unique. If duplicates are created, you may need to manually clean up affected entries, and related automations (Recurring Jobs) may need to be reconfigured to prevent incorrect or misleading logs.
Before proceeding, make sure you understand how this setting works: Understanding the techOMS Master Product Source [Information].
For Recurring job adjustments, refer to: How to configure Automations for Sales/Fulfillment channels [Step-by-step guide].If you select Sales Channel or Fulfillment Channel, an additional field appears:
- Master Product Channel: Select the corresponding channel.
NOTE: Only channels that support product imports are available. For full reference, see: techOMS Sales Channels - Master List [Guides List] and techOMS Fulfillment Channels - Master List [Guides List].
- Master Product Channel: Select the corresponding channel.
- Default warehouse: Default warehouse for the account.
- Enable Automatic Sales Workflow: Enable or disable automatic workflow for sales orders.
- Enable Automatic Purchase Order Workflow: Enable or disable automatic workflow for purchase orders.
- Enable Inventory Real-Time updates: Enabled by default, this setting automatically pushes inventory adjustments to all sales channels whenever a product's inventory is updated in techOMS. This includes:
- Manual inventory level changes.
- Updates received from a channel.
- Order allocations.
NOTE:This feature is especially useful for businesses with multiple sales channels, ensuring all channels are notified when stock is sold in any of them.
WARNING: If your account only uses one sales channel, keep this setting set to No. The recurring inventory update job should be sufficient, avoiding unnecessary API calls and preventing performance issues.
- Master Product Source: Select the master product source: techOMS (default), Sales Channel, or Fulfillment Channel.
- API Validation Rules: Set the status (Warning or Error) for carrier and service codes in sales orders, shipments, purchase orders, and receipts.
- Recurring Jobs: Manage recurring jobs for the account.
NOTE: Recurring Jobs only affect the account's stable channels. For detailed information on channel automations, refer to: How to configure Automations for Sales/Fulfillment channels [Step-by-step guide].
- Warehouses: Manage warehouses as detailed in How to edit Warehouses and Fulfillment Channels for an Account [Step-by-step guide].
NOTE: This tab is available only to Organizational Administrators and Supervisors.
- Users: Manage user access and permissions for the account as detailed in How to Add Users to an Account [Step-by-step guide].
