Assigning Addresses to Clients in techSHIP 2025 [Guide]

Modified on Thu, 2 Oct at 3:39 PM

With techSHIP 2025, address management has been redesigned for efficiency and flexibility. Instead of creating separate, client-specific addresses, you now manage a central list of reusable addresses that can be assigned to one or more Clients.

Use this guide to learn about the new system and how to manage address visibility.

This article is divided into the following sections:

  1. From Client-Specific to a Reusable Address Book
  2. Address Visibility
  3. Step-by-Step: Assigning Address Visibility

NOTE: For a full overview of all new features, see: What's New in techSHIP 2025: A Guide to the Latest Features [Information].

I. FROM CLIENT-SPECIFIC TO A REUSABLE ADDRESS BOOK

Addresses existed only under a specific Client in its Addresses tab, which often led to duplicates across clients. In techSHIP 2025 all addresses are managed centrally in the Addresses page under the Settings section, creating a reusable "address book" that simplifies maintenance and reduces data entry errors.

II. ADDRESS VISIBILITY

Control which Clients can use an address by setting its visibility in the address creation or editing dialog:

  • Global Address: Available to all Clients by leaving the client selection list empty.
  • Restricted Address: Available to specific Clients by selecting them from the list.

III. STEP-BY-STEP: ASSIGNING ADDRESS VISIBILITY

1. Click Addresses from the left menu under the Settings section.

2. Press Create to add a new address or click the Edit icon for an existing one.

3. Complete the address fields.

4. In the Clients table, set visibility:

  • For all Clients: Leave the list empty.
  • For specific Clients: Select them from the list.

5. Press Save.
