How to Upgrade your techSHIP Print Client [Step-by-Step Guide]

The authentication process for techSHIP printers has changed. To keep using your print client, you must upgrade to version 1.0.0.56 or higher to comply with the new authentication.


To upgrade your techSHIP print client:


1. Check your current print client version.


Open the print client application and look at the application's title bar to see your current version number.



2. If your version is lower than 1.0.0.56, close your print client.


To completely close it, right-click the print client icon in the System Tray and select Exit.



3. Reopen the print client to trigger the update.


Launch the print client again and confirm the update.


Once finished, confirm that it has updated to version 1.0.0.56 or higher by checking the title bar.



4. Update printer profiles with new API Secret:


A. Copy the corresponding API Secret from your portal settings. For detailed instructions, see How to Get an API Secret for the Techdinamics Print Client [Step-by-Step Guide].


NOTE: It may take up to 1 minute after creating new keys manually in the portal for them to be recognized by the print client. To perform this step, you need to be a Portal Administrator.

 


B. Go to the SETTINGS tab.

C. On each printer profile:

  • Paste the API Secret into the printer profile.
  • Click Save.



Your techSHIP print client is now upgraded and authenticated with the new process.
