I. MEETING THE REQUIREMENTS
WARNING: The authentication process for Techdinamics printers has changed. Ensure you are using Techdinamics Print Client v1.0.0.56 or higher. For upgrade instructions, refer to: How to Upgrade your Techdinamics Print Client [Step-by-Step Guide].
Before you begin, make sure the following requirements are met:
Your thermal printer must be ZPL compliant.
You have an API Description and API Secret.
NOTE: If you are a Portal Administrator, you can obtain these as described: How to Get an API Secret for the Techdinamics Print Client [Step-by-Step Guide].Each printer must have a unique name.
A techSHIP printer setup can include:
One thermal printer (usually 4x6, for shipping labels).
One optional generic printer (inkjet or laser for documents like packing slips or commercial invoices).
NOTE: Printers can be either physically connected to your workstation or available over the network.
II. ADDING A NEW PRINTER
To set up a printer:
1. Open the Techdinamics Print Client.
2. Click the SETTINGS tab.

3. Press Add Printer.

4. Fill out the credentials fields:
- Name: Paste the exact API Description provided by the Portal Administrator. This value is unique and must match the one associated with the API Secret.
WARNING: Any mismatch, including differences in capitalization or spacing, will result in a connection error. - Portal: Enter your portal address (e.g. myportal.techship.io).
- Api secret: Paste the API Secret provided by your Portal Administrator, corresponding to the printer Name.
5. Fill out the remaining printer details:

The printer must also be plugged in or networked.
