How to map References in a Fulfillment Channel [Step-by-step guide]

Modified on Thu, 6 Feb at 4:42 PM

When setting up a Fulfillment Channel connection, you can map Sales and Purchase Order References to connect your techOMS system with the Fulfillment Channel. Mapping these references ensures that both systems can correctly identify and process orders.

WARNING: This feature is only available for supported Fulfillment Channels. Some channels support mapping for only one type of Order Reference (either Sales or Purchase Orders). For a complete list of supported channels and their features, please refer to techOMS Fulfillment Channels - Master List [Guides List].

Updates between mapped fields work as follow:

  • From techOMS to the Fulfillment Channel:
    • techOMS references are mapped either to the Fulfillment Channel's custom fields or, if reference mappings are set, to the specified default fields.
    • Any remaining references are mapped as custom fields, when applicable.
  • From the Fulfillment Channel to techOMS:
    • No Fulfillment Channel custom fields are mapped to techOMS references.
    • Some Fulfillment Channels map specific default fields to techOMS references.

For details on how a specific Fulfillment Channel handles mappings, refer to its documentation in Fulfillment Channels.

NOTE: Make sure that you are operating at the right Vendor/Warehouse beforehand.

To map references:

1. Click Channels from the left menu under the Fulfillment Channels section.

2. Press the Name of the connection to access the setup.

3. Click the Reference Mappings tab.

4. Click the Expand button for the desired reference to map.

5. Enter the value you will use to refer to the field in techOMS in the Code field.

6. Select the WMS field you will refer to from the WMS Property dropdown.

7. Press Save to apply the changes.
