How to create a techTrack User - [Step-by-step guide]

techTrack allows Administrators to create users under their portals, allowing them to access tracking information and other actions under different roles.


Feel free to follow the step-by-step guide or watch the video, as you prefer:




Adding a techTrack user is a two phase process. To do it you will have to:


USER CREATION


1. Select Users under the Admin dropdown


2. Click the Create User button


3. Complete the user's information


  • Username: Used for login, usually, the same as the e-mail
  • E-mail: E-mail address (will be used for password recovery)
  • Full Name: Defined for identification
  • Company Name: Not required, defined for identification
  • Phone Number: Not required, defined for ease of contact
  • Password and Confirm Password: User defined (we recommend using 16 character passwords, you can generate those with tools like https://passwordsgenerator.net/
  • User Type: Access permission setting (role)
    • Warehouse: Has visibility and action over the whole warehouse (all the shippers) 
    • Shipper: Has visibility and action over specific shippers 


4. Press Save


USER PERMISSION ASSIGNMENT


Once the user has been created, you need to assign the corresponding permissions to it, determining which actions it can perform, and what visibility the user should have.


1. Press the Edit button




2. Set all the roles that apply to the case (action permissions):

  • Administrators: Can create other users and tracking events, edit information, view the Dashboard, Performance list, Trackings and events.
  • Supervisor: Can view the Dashboard, Performance list, Trackings and events.
  • User: Can view Trackings and events
  • Audit Users: Can view and operate with the techAUDIT module (if available in the portal)


3. Set the Warehouse roles that apply to the case (visibility over the warehouse):

  1. Click on an empty section the list
  2. Click on the Warehouse role(s) from the dropdown list that will be shown


4. Set the Shipper roles that apply to the case (visibility over the shipper/client):

  1. Click on an empty section the list
  2. Click on the Shipper role(s) from the dropdown list that will be shown


5. Press Save to apply the changes
