This article is divided into the following sections:

  1. Deletion Logic
  2. Product Deletion
    1. Single Product Deletion
    2. Bulk Product Deletion
    3. Deletion Result

WARNING: Deleting a Product (including all related deletion logic) cannot be undoneProducts linked to Orders in Approved or Fulfilling status are not eligible for deletion.

NOTE: To delete a single Product Variant instead of the entire Product, refer to How to Delete a Product Variant [Step-by-Step guide].

NOTE: Make sure that you are operating at the right Vendor/Warehouse beforehand.

I. DELETION LOGIC

When one or more Products are deleted, techOMS updates all related entities to maintain data consistency. These updates fall into the following categories:

  • Fully Deleted

    • Product Properties

      • Product References

      • Product Variants and their associated elements:

        • Alternatives

        • Bundle Parts

        • Product Variant References

    • Inventory Levels with the corresponding adjustments

    • SKU Mappings in Sales and Fulfillment Channels

  • Partially Preserved

NOTE: These elements are partially preserved for historical data purposes.

    • Order Lines: Affected order lines will no longer display the Product Variant Name, but the Product Name and SKU remain:

      • Sales Orders

        • Order Line

        • Shipments and their Package Lines

      • Purchase Orders

        • Order Line

        • Receipt Line

  • Execution Errors

    • Order Rules: If a rule references a deleted product, it remains editable but will fail at runtime, triggering an error.
