How to update an Order with a missing Product Variant [Step-by-Step guide]

When handling Orders, these might need to be updated with missing Product Variants.

This article describes all the sections involved, and how to do so.


Since there is more than one procedure involved as part of the whole process, these will be referenced accordingly:

  1. Add the missing product variant to the product catalogue
  2. Change the Order status to Draft
  3. Edit the Order line to add the missing product variant
  4. Save, Approve, and Allocate and Fulfill


NOTE: Make sure that you are operating at the right Vendor/Warehouse beforehand.


To do so you will have to:


ADD THE MISSING PRODUCT VARIANT TO THE PRODUCT CATALOGUE

CHANGE THE ORDER STATUS TO DRAFT


In order to be able to edit the Order, you will have to change its status to Draft.

EDIT THE ORDER LINE AND ADD THE MISSING PRODUCT VARIANT


Once the Order is editable, access it and make the necessary changes in the Lines section, as described in How to Edit Order Lines of a Sales Order [Step-by-step guide] and once ready, return to resume the process.



SAVE, APPROVE, ALLOCATE AND FULFILL


The last part of the process is returning the Sales Order to Approved status in preparation for it to be Allocated and Fulfilled.
