How to set up a Bright Sites Sales Channel [Step-by-step guide]

To connect Bright Sites, you must create a sales channel connection and then configure its parameters. Once established, this connection enables you to push and update Sales Orders, receive stock updates, and synchronize inventory with techOMS


The process consists of two phases: 

  1. Create the channel
  2. Configure additional parameters


 NOTE: Make sure that you are operating at the right Vendor/Warehouse beforehand.



A. CREATE THE CHANNEL



To create a sales channel, follow the instructions in How to Create a Sales Channel [Step-by-step guide]. In addition, you will need to provide the Name, Shop Domain, and Access Token.



 Once created, proceed to the following section.



B. CONFIGURE ADDITIONAL PARAMETERS 



To configure additional parameters:


1. Click on the created channel's name in the list.



2. Update parameters within each section as required:




SECTIONS


A) VIEW SELECTION, enables changing the different view modes:

  • Main settings (default): Review and set basic connection settings.
  • Advanced settings: Allows to define the Access Token, Order and Inventory options, Timezone, Units of Measurement, etc.
     

    WARNING: The Advanced Settings section details features the option to Update order with last shipment information. If this setting is configured to Yes, techOMS will update orders using the API update order method. 

     
  • Warehouse Mappings: If available, this section allows you to bind or modify the connection to a specific warehouse instance. You can set or modify Warehouse IDs (the techOMS entity) and External Identifiers (on the Sales Channel end) to link both systems.  
  • Carrier Mappings: Review and set Carrier name mappings between the Sales Channel connection and techOMS, as detailed here: How to map Carriers in a Sales Channel [Step-by-step guide].
  • SKU Mappings: Review and set SKU mappings between the Sales Channel connection and techOMS, as detailed here: How to map SKUs in a Sales Channel [Step-by-step guide].


B) QUICK ACTIONS, enable you to perform the following actions: 

  • Sync: Provides manual actions to synchronize different sets of data to/from the channel. 
  • Save: Saves and commits changes.
  • Delete: Deletes the channel connection.


C) GENERAL, displays and/or allows to edit:

  • Name: The display name for the connection, which can be edited for easier identification (especially when managing multiple connections). 
  • Shop Domain: The URL that techOMS uses to connect to the shop. 
     
    NOTE: Only organization ownersorganization administrators, and account administrators can update the Shop Domain field. Ensure the updated shop domain is not used in another existing sales channel. 

     

D) PRIVACY, displays and allows you to set/modify the Personal Identification Information (PII) retention threshold. 


E) SYNC ACTIONS, displays information about synchronization actions and last activity, and enables manual logging.
